Our Mission
The Nicholas Richard Collins Superhero Foundation exists to honor Nicholas — who we lost to AML Leukemia just before his third birthday — by turning love and grief into action.
We fund pediatric AML cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, support bereavement services for families navigating the unimaginable, and help grieving children, parents, and siblings find strength and hope together.
100% of every dollar raised goes directly to Dana-Farber. Just Nicholas’s legacy, working.

Years of Impact
A Family's Love,
Turned to Action
It was a late night phone call from his pediatrician that woke his family. The doctor told them to get Nicholas to the ER - his bloodwork had returned with alarm. The fair skin and bruises, hoped to be hallmarks of a vivacious toddler, turned out to be harbingers of a deadly disease. That phone call shattered their world into life before and after cancer.
“Love and grief have been poured into Nicholas's Foundation.”
We lost Nicholas 10 months after his diagnosis of AML Leukemia, just before his 3rd birthday. 100% of proceeds go to Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - funding pediatric AML research and grief & bereavement services that help children, parents, and siblings find strength and hope together.

Dear Mike, Tera and Family,
Thank you to the Nicholas Richard Collins Superhero Foundation for your amazing gift to support bereavement programming for pediatric families at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am humbled by your vote of confidence in our team's work, and I am immensely grateful for your support.
Philanthropic dollars are invaluable to the Bereavement Service to help us continue to provide support to the families of our patients at no charge. Dr. Muriel and I have appreciated getting to know you this past year and were very glad that we could both attend the recent event, ‘Beyond the Diagnosis’, at Lab Central.
With your generous support, we are planning a bereavement conference for pediatric families from DFCI on Saturday March 14, 2026. Our plan is to have a keynote speaker, a panel of bereaved parents and breakout groups for discussions, including parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Dr. Muriel will share her expertise about parenting grieving children. In parallel, clinicians from our pediatric psychosocial team will provide activities for bereaved siblings aged between 5–18 years — something that we know is very important to you and the foundation.
On behalf of the bereaved families, who will be impacted by this important support, and the entire Institute, thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Sue Morris
